Mains

Hej alle sammen! (Hello everyone!)

I want to share with you some of my favorite Scandinavian vegan mains. While meat and fish may be a big part of the traditional cuisine, there are plenty of delicious plant-based options too.

One of the favorites is kålruletter, or cabbage rolls filled with a savory mix of rice, mushrooms, and herbs. We also love our root vegetables, like roasted beets and carrots with a tangy mustard dressing.

For something heartier, try frikadeller made with mashed potatoes and chickpeas, served with lingonberry sauce. Trust me, you won’t miss the meat!

Desserts

Finally, some of our delicious Scandinavian vegan desserts and cakes for you. From creamy delights to sweet and fruity treats, we’ve got something for everyone.

One classic dessert is chokladbollar, or chocolate balls, made with oats, coconut, and cocoa powder. For something more indulgent, try a slice of kladdkaka, a rich and gooey chocolate cake that’s perfect with a scoop of vegan ice cream.

During the summer months, we love our fresh berry desserts, like a Swedish strawberry cake or blueberry pie. And of course, no Scandinavian dessert list would be complete without mentioning our beloved cinnamon buns, or kanelbullar.
