Vegan Paprikas Krumpli - Hungarian Sausage Stew

Vegan Paprikas Krumpli - Hungarian Sausage Stew using a mix of vegan sausages to keep this true to it's traditional form.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 KG Potatoes Peeled and cubed
  • 2 Medium Onions diced
  • 500 Grams Mixed Sausages
  • 2 large Bell peppers (red)
  • 1 red chilli
  • 2 Cups plain flour
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic puree
  • 2 Teaspoons Hot Paprika
  • 2 Teaspoons Tomato Paste
  • 2 Teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • Water Enough to cover the ingredients in the pot

Instructions
 

  • Peel and cube the potatoes
  • Slice the sausages in equal sized pieces
  • Chop the onions
  • Cut the red peppers into equal squares and thin slice the chili
  • Add some oil to a pot and fry the onions
  • add in the peppers
  • Stir the mix for 3 minutes until all is soft
  • Add in the sausages
  • Once all is mixed, add in the spices and tomato paste and mix until all combined
  • Add in the potatoes and stir
  • Add in water to cover the potatoes and sausages and place a lid on the pot
  • After 5 minutes you will have some sauce from the pot, extract 4 cups from it and place in a separate bowl
  • In that bowl, add a teaspoon of salt and the flour and stir until you have a dough
  • kneed it for 3 minutes
  • roll the dough into long 'sausages' and cut to create dumplings
  • Add the dumplings to the pot and cook until they are ready, chewy and delicious!
  • You'll know it's ready once it's nice and thick! the starch from the dumplings will help thicken the sauce!
